We can understand the husband's perspective. Not only that, but the dessert tasted delicious, and he thought it could be a great asset for his restaurant; since it comes from his wife's family, it adds even more value. On the other hand, it's okay if he feels disappointed or discouraged when she doesn't want to share it; maybe he's taking it personally. At the end of the day, they are married, and sharing something delicious with the world is a good way to honor the grandmother… at least, that's what he thinks. But for him, it's adding a new item to the menu, for her, it's the special relationship she had with Grandma: it goes beyond the recipe itself.

We can put ourselves in both of their shoes and easily feel the frustration that comes with this simple refusal. It's not about being selfish: it's about loyalty and how each person defines it. Not wanting to share something personal doesn't mean the wife is selfish or that he's not worthy of it. They both have to respect those boundaries, and maybe look together for a new recipe to add to the menu.
